Apparel Fabric Group Installs World’s First
The world’s first major installation of Rieter’s ultra high speed C-60 Card has been installed in Mount Vernon’s Trion, Georgia plant. The centerpiece of the installation, that totals 91 Rieter machines, is 35 C-60’s with built-in RSB Drafting. “With an output of 325 lbs per hour, and the elimination of the separate drawing process, our yarn manufacturing has moved to the highest level of quality and output in denim and piece-dyed fabrics” said Richard M. Turner, President of Apparel Fabrics Group. “Superior yarn quality and substantial improvements in the down stream processes (weaving, dyeing and finishing) have resulted because of reduced trash and dust content and without any undue fiber damage” Turner said. Roger W. Chastain, President Mount Mills, Inc. pointed out, “this multi-million dollar installation is part of Mount Vernon’s company-wide, continuous capital improvement programs that keep us world-class in manufacturing technology. The new Trion Card Room installation is true “break-through” technology and allows us to meet and exceed customer demands for fabric quality consistency- yard after yard after yard”. “We had faith Rieter would deliver what they promised so we can deliver what we promise”.
